To be transparent and upfront and honest as that is my #1 priority. The quality control issues are repeating cards in the box known as Collation. I have opened 2 boxes from this case. 1 box was repetitive with the same three players in each pack and all I pulled note-worthy was Dale Murphy, Bo Jackson, Don Mattingly, Nolan Ryan, Tony Gwynn and Gregg Jeffries RC. Pretty much everyone except Ken Griffey Jr RC and Randy Johnson RC. The 2nd box I opened from the same case was again repetitive with 2 or 3 repeating players in each pack but I pulled 2 Ken Griffey Jr. RC and Randy Johnson RC along with all the other 89' MLB Stars. So my thought process was that although the first two boxes had some weird stuff going on , it was still not enough problems for me to think there was a issue with the rest of the case. I had pulled 2 Ken Griffey Jr RC's and a Randy Johnson RC and those are the chase cards people want from this set, so im thinking ok all good. I was wrong. An E-Bayer who purchased from me gave me negative feedback about 1 week ago because they had a bad experience with the 89' Upper Deck box that they bought from me, that was my 1st negative feedback on E-Bay. And then another E-Bayer just wrote me and said they had a bad experience as well with the box of 89 Upper Deck they purchased and opened. Again the three same players were pulled and 4 Cal Ripken Jr cards in his box. This clearly is a quality control issue that was not handled by Upper Deck upon release back in 1989. After doing some research and talking to some experienced collectors in the Hobby it seams that mostly all 1989 Upper Deck High Series has this issue one way or another. Its just up to the seller to know their product and to inform you if they know, like I am doing. So if you are shopping for a Upper Deck 1989 High Series Box then the ones I have are most likely the same ones you will get from someone else on E-Bay who probably has no idea this issue exist or they know but they are not saying anything. And same goes for the Buyer. If you are not experienced in ripping 1989 Upper Deck High Series then "Yes" this looks like a serious issue. To the experienced 1989 Upper Deck High Series buyer then this is normal and expected to some extent. But you can still possibly get Ken Griffey Jr. RC and Randy Johnson RC and all the other players from the 89 Upper Deck set in the boxes I'm selling from this particular case. Low Number Series includes the first 700 cards. High Number Series covers the final 100 cards, which were released later in the season. However, High Series packs have cards from both sets.
