Description: From a local Westchester New York estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this beautiful piece of Americana, an Antique American 19th Century Slant Front Desk with Fitted Interior. Made of beautiful heakthy vivid color mahogany, large and practical work desk. Front lid when opened reveals a superb fitted interior featuring center door with, along with letter compartments and a pair of drawers. Front of the desk has 4 large drawers. Top drawer is flanked with pull out slides which are support for the lid when the desk is open for use. Each drawer has its pair of original brass / bronze pull handles, and also an antique bronze / brass lock in the center (no key). All drawers are dovetailed beautifully, secondary wood is excellent quality. Top of the desk is a fine table display, large enough to fit any artwork. Desk is in good overall condition, shows age / use wear, as expected for 125+ years of age, hairline on bottom of one side, and lid corner chip (please see photos). Size is large 37" wide, 20.75" deep, and 41" in height. This beauty queen will gracefully serve generations to come, good with traditional od mid-century modern setting, will pay for itself over and over!
