Description: Bavaria Tirschenreuth 3 Dinner Plates 10 1/8" Floral Sprays Gold 1903-1927 HP Exquisite Decorative 10 1/8" DINNER PLATES 10-Sided Set of 3, Beautiful FLORAL SPRAYS w/Green Leaves & GOLD Trim, from Tirschenreuth, Bavaria, Germany, circa 1903-1927 DESCRIPTION: The beautiful dinner plates were hand painted with floral sprays with leaves in a large bouquet in the center of the plate There are 3 different center bouquets. There are smaller floral sprays sprinkled around the rim of the plates. The design looks so classic. The rims are trimmed in bold gold while the verge unadorned. This makes a beautiful display or can be used everyday. Please check our eBay store for other Tirschenreuth plates of the same pattern. CONDITION: While this set is classified as used, the condition is excellent. There is really only one issue with one plate that has a tight star hairline on the back that can be found on the front. See photos #3-#6. There are no chips, nicks, cracks, rubbings, scratches or other hairlines. There is no wear to the paint and only minor, age appropriate wear to the gold on the points of the rim. Plate #2 does not have the manufacturer's mark on the back. Plate #3 has no issues. The photos show a full frontal view of each plate with additional close-ups. DIMENSIONS: The dinner plates have a diameter of 10 1/8" with a height of 1". HISTORY/MARKS: Carl Magnus Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1814 in Hohenberg an der Eger, Bavaria and his son, Lorenz Hutschenreuther formed his company in 1857 in Selb, Bavaria. This latter company acquired P.T. Porcelain Factory in 1927 and then in 1969 was merged with the former company and continued operation as Hutschenreuther AG (Selb, Bavaria) until 1994 when the Tirschenreuth factory was closed due to bankruptcy. This set has the underglaze "P.T." Bavaria Tirschenreuth Germany mark on it. The P. T. Bavaria Porcelain Factory Tirschenreuth was founded in 1838 in Tirshenreuth, Bavaria. After Hutschenreuther purchased the pottery in 1927, the mark was modified. The mark on this is cited as mark #755 in Robert E. Rontgen’s Marks on German, Bohemian and Austrian Porcelain 1710 to the Present and was used from 1903-1927. Please view all pictures carefully as they are part of the description.
