Description: For sale is a Vintage Oil Painting By African American Listed Artist Beni E. Kosh. His birth name was Charles Elmer Harris but he changed it in 1960 to a Hebrew one meaning “ Son of Kush” (Ethiopia). He studied with Paul Travis and was associated with the Karamu House in Cleveland. He is featured in the book “YET STILL WE RISE” African America Art In Cleveland 1920-1970. In addition he is featured in the book, RECOLLECTIONS AND REVELATIONS-Self Taught Artists from Central and Northeast Ohio 1850-2007. Sadly in spite of his talent, Mr. Kosh sold few pieces of art. A few days after his death, an art dealer found paintings in his trash. This lovely lady is approximately 18” x 24”. The paint in her blouse is raised and thick, Gallery stamp on the back certifies it as an original.
