Exquisite Vintage 1974 COMPLETED Farm Apple Tree Bushel Crewel Orange/Red FRAMED

Description: This fabulous colorful crewel embroidery picture was created from a kit produced and distributed by Paragon Needleworks in 1974 called "Apple Tree", Paragon Kit #0121. It features a large, loaded apple tree at the edge of a farm pasture with a singular Bluebird perched in a branch - bright colors on an almost neon orange "burlap" fabric background. A full bushel apple basket sits beside the tree, and there are many apples covering the ground. The pasture fences, some tranquil white clouds, and overhead flying birds complete the nostalgic farm scene. The color palette includes "neon" orange, bright fire engine red, sage and forest green, mahogany brown, taupe, avocado green, beige, ivory, merlot, white, and the cobalt blue Bluebird. This piece is around 50 years old and the colors are traditional bright and vibrant 1970's decor - the red and orange combination was everywhere. The frame is solid wood, 1.5 inch wide box-style, honed in a rustic style with "pitting" in the grain (see photos). There is no glass in the frame which was probably a frame kit, and remarkable that the fabric and thread are in such great shape. It measures 21 inches in width and 17 inches in height (framed), a very nice medium size that will work well in many spaces. The fabric picture is in wonderful condition - no tears, stains, holes or other discoloration, colors still bright and vivid. Fabric and thread in excellent shape with no loose threads or unraveling. The frame is wood and has some dings and scratches, consistent with vintage wear, but is a rustic style, so the imperfections in the frame are not detracting.
