Reproduction Red Army model cloth set of three helmet pads to make the liner for the model 1940 Soviet steel helmet, based on photographs of original examples with measurements taken from the standard leatherette helmet pads. These are a non standard helmet pad, and may be an improvised replacement item used by one of the many small workshops re-working damaged helmets. Each pad is approximately 15 cm x 15 cm, on a 60 cm long piece of Russia braid to tighten and adjust. Made from a range of green cotton double twill fabrics imported from Russia, the grey felt like fabric is taken from a Warsaw Pact greatcoat, the padding pocket is taken from GP-4/GP-5 gas mask bags and shades of green will vary.
