Suitable for framing, the average page size is approx 10.75" x 8.25" or 27.5cm x 21cm, including text and border. Average image size approx 9" x 6.25" or 22.25cm x 16cm This is an antique print not a modern copy or reproduction and can show signs of age or previous use commensurate with the age of the print, please view the scans as they form part of the description. 1900 is the printing date, the original date of creation can be earlier. All prints will be sent bagged and in a boarded envelope for maximum protection. Text description beneath the picture (subject to any spelling errors due to the OCR program used) INVERNESS: FROM THE RIVER. Inverness has large works connected with the Highland Railway: there are also yards for ship and boat-building, stoneworks, foundries, woollen manufactures, etc. The River Ness traverses it throughout, and is crossed by several bridges. Above Castle Hill is a suspension footbridge; just below it is a suspension bridge for general traffic, erected in 1850 at a cost of £20,000; below that is another suspension footbridge; and near the quay are a fourth bridge and the railway viaduct, in the neighbourhood of which are docks. Our view is taken from the right bank, below the suspension bridge, and shows the principal churches on the opposite bank, with the County Buildings crowning Castle Hill on the right hand.
