Description: I am not a professional Ebay seller. My father passed away and I am tasked with clearing out his various collections. This includes a large collection of Libyan/Egyptian Desert Glass he collected on several treks into the deep southwest desert of Egypt many years ago. There are about 100 total pieces ranging from a few grams to 1.8 kilograms, and even a huge one at 7.8 kg but we probably won't sell that one. There will also be a large coin collection (US, Canada, international), Roman/Phoenician artifacts from Tunisia, Egypt and Lebanon, Neolithic arrow and spearheads, and African art and masks from Cameroon, Burundi and Zaire. This piece of Desert Glass weighs 1.883 kilograms and has never been cut, polished or modified in any way. Our father found it in SW Egypt in the early 1990's and it has been in our family ever since, so there is no certificate of any kind. This piece might be in the top 10 largest pieces ever found. We only for certain know of two pieces bigger than this one: the 7.8 kg one we have and another that was about 10 or 15 kg that sold at Christies for between $100,000 to $250,000 (Christie's didn't disclose exact sale price).
