Description: This is a fabulous Black & White Portrait of Mae West by Minnesota artist, Gordon Lynch. Here, Gordon Lynch captures Mae West, the singer, as part of his art collection of more than 50 famous musicians and singers. Lynch mixes acrylic paint, plaster and a handful of broken vinyl records on a piece of masonite board, resulting in a mixed media painting (“long playing art,” as he playfully calls them). Lynch created this unique and gripping art form in his studio in Osakis, Minnesota after semi-retiring about a decade ago. This painting is signed by the artist (Lynch) on the front and back. It is dated 2015. This portrait is framed in a speckled "champagne" frame. It is is excellent condition, with only minor wear on the frame (see photos). The frame measures approximately 14-3/4" x 12-3/4" x 1-1/2" (the visible artwork is about 9-1/2" x 7-1/2"). Mae West was an American stage and film actress, playwright/screenwriter, singer, and sex symbol. Her entertainment career spanned over seven decades.
