Shooting on "auto" exposure yields great results. Manual exposure available too. It does 18fps, single frame and intervalometer timings. It works well with Tri-x reversal film. The Minolta XL 401 is just as fine a camera as the Canon 310xl and Canon 514xl and it has auto and manual exposure and has a fast lens The XL-401 also has the added benefit of a an INTERVALOMETER which is a rare feature to find on super 8 cameras The Camera Lens elements are in fine condition and perform perfectly with great contrast and sharpness Fully Working condition. Film Tested I have used this camera it runs smoothly. Automatic zooming also works perfectly. The lens glass is free of scratches and the aperture adjusts to light perfectly and the lens performs correctly and the viewfinder provides a good image The Metering function is working correctly and the low light warning triangle appears when light is very low. The battery check light works as it should too. The Motor runs consistently at the 18 frames per second and the Single Frame shooting works precisely also as well as interval shooting and timer. The Motor is runs quietly and speeds are consistent I have added a new foam door seal which keeps the batteries secured in their compartment as well as a body seal Processed Super 8 film results look great and the lens shows great character with good contrast Cosmetically the camera looks superb with hardly any surface marks on the camera body.
