Description: Up for your consideration is an original blackpowder rifle buttstock relic. The curly or tiger figured maple stock is nicely carved with an incised design behind the cheek piece. The 4-piece brass patchbox is engraved, as well as the toeplate & sideplate. The front tab of the toeplate is the patchbox release. The triggers are nicely filed & functional. The percussion lock works & looks to be original. It's marked R W BOOTH & Co. CINCINNATI O. The architecture & carving on this looks similar to rifles from the Fulton, Somerset, Bedford County area of Pennsylvania, but I'm not sure if it's a PA rifle or not. With many distinct features, I'm sure someone knows the maker or area it was made. It is approximately 20 1/2" long over-all measured in a straight line. Condition is well worn.
