Description: Travel back in time with this Wurlitzer "Conservatory" violin. With a 14'' body and a 23-1/2'' scale length, it is a 4/4, full-size violin. The inside label is marked "Conservatory, The Rudolf Wurlitzer Co." As Wurlitzer branded violins made by other makers, I do not know who actually made it. I assume it was made in Germany, but do not know for sure. I'd reasonably guess it's early 20th century. Two-piece finely flamed maple back. Flame maple sides. Spruce top. Maple neck. One fine tuner. Cosmetically, it looks great. It is very clean. There are some minor scuffs, particularly on the top lower bout and by the bridge. Functionally, it plays. The bow is stamped both PECCATTE and GERMANY, so it is not a French Peccatte bow. It comes in a modern case. The handle, zipper, and hinges all work. It's a fine violin, ready to go. Questions? It will be well packed with plenty of new 1/2" bubble wrap and shipped in a new 32"x19"x7" stout cardboard instrument box.
