And with the additional negative camber built into the axle, this is designed to work best with radial tires to withstand the rigors of driving on modern roads at higher speeds. The center portion of the axle is made of 2" DOM tubing while the ends are CNC milled from solid steel. These axles give you 2" of drop on the 57-60 chassis. Tie rod drops required, U-bolts sold separately. If using this axle in conjunction with drop springs, you may encounter bump steer or tie rod issues. My project was a 1959 F100 with 2" wide springs. The spring pads were a 1/4" off for my application and the holes for the u-bolts were also 1/4" off. Just a little modification to work for my application. Very pleased with the 2 1/2" drop this axle provided. Great quality Rated by Gil on May 16, 2018 Summary: Well made!! Yes, I recommend this product. It did the job but... Rated by Tltony on October 20, 2014 Summary: When we mounted the axle the 1959 F100 truck had 2 1/2 and 3 degrees negative camber. We had to bend the axle to get the camber up to an acceptable level. For cosmetic reasons, a simple bend in the middle wasnt an option because of the amount it had to be bent, so we had to bend both ends near the spring pads to get acceptable camber (1/2 degree negative. Fortunately, were an alignment shop and were able to do this in house. Also, the u-bolt holes were too close together and had to be hogged out, after my tech ruined a couple of u-bolts trying to get it together. The center bolt hole in the spring pad wasnt deep enough to accept an un-modified spring center bolt. However, it did do the job. I can recommend this axle as long as the customer is aware of these issues. Yes, I recommend this product.
