Description: This style of gathering basket with a pedestal is unusual. I have not seen any others like it. It appears to be old/vintage and well-made, but I do not know the maker or origin. The basket is oval shaped, 12" wide, 15" long and approx. 3" deep. It sits on a 2.5" high 5.5" diameter pedestal and has a large, curved wooden handle. Total height including pedestal and handle is 13". The flat reeds are 1.25-1.5" wide at their widest points, tapering to narrower widths at the center of the basket. There is a sturdy edging at the base of the pedestal and at the top rim of the basket. The handle is 1.25" wide and has a partial split on one side near where it attaches to the basket. However, most of the split does not go through to the other side of the handle, and it still appears to be quite strong in spite of the split. This item will be double boxed to ensure safe delivery.
