Vintage 1940s Lady's 'Rainbow' Fair Isle Knitting Pattern, Simply Stunning

Description: You are buying an A4 modern print of the original pattern, not the finished item. CHART INCLUDED for Fair Isle pattern. This pattern is for a simply wonderful Fair Isle jumper in the most feminine design. It is designed to fit a size of 34 inches all round the underarms and is a total eye-catcher. If you are a 'Fair Isle' knitter, this is definitely one to try either as a treat for yourself or as a gift for a special friend. The jumper was originally knitted in W.B Melody 3-ply yarn, however, this yarn is sadly now long discontinued, so you may wish to knit this lovely jumper in a modern 4-ply, as vintage yarns were heavier than modern, but do work your tension square to see if a change of needles is necessary to obtain the correct tension as stipulated in the pattern. A chart is included for the Fair Isle patterning. As a point of interest the original jumper (according to the pattern) was in black, with the narrow bands of patterning in mustard-yellow, mauve, pink, pale green, burnt orange, blue and red. The design is worked with the aid of charts and supplementary directions. Measurements, materials and tension information is taken DIRECTLY from the pattern.
