Description: For sale I have an old Vintage Old World Pewter Pitcher by IMPER1A Made in England. I tried to research this piece and I did find one that looked exactly like this one on ETSY. This one has a weak mark as shown in my photos and so the the other one sold. I copie some of their write up and it goes as follows "The maker's mark on this jar is partially worn off, and all that can be clearly seen is a crown. After looking through hundreds of pewter companies' marks from the 19th and 20th century, there were no companies that used the same crown mark (My pitcher has a little clearer mark). It is more likely that the crown is a verification mark, meaning that this piece was verified by a weights and measures inspector, which was required of all English-made pieces since 1835. The jar is in excellent condition, with only a bit of wearing on the bottom over the maker's mark. This was not made by today's Imperial Pewter company, which was founded in 1951".
The only difference is that their pitcher has England stamped on the bottom. My pitcher measures 7 1/4" tall x 4 1/2" across at the base. It measures 4 3/4" across at the widest part and 6 1/4" including the handle. The top measures 2 1/2" in diameter. Look over my photos as they are part of my description and email me if you have any questions. Thank you for looking.
