WWI US AEF Aero Squadron Overseas Cap British RFC 1913 Style 2 Eagle Buttons Hat

Description: I’ve had this hat for a long time. Finally letting it go. As I understand it, this style cap was the British Royal flying corps pattern 1913 overseas cap, but this one was either modified and worn by an American aero squadron member, or copied and issued by the AEF. It has two rimmed eagle buttons on the front. The wings are pin back and I’ve never removed them. The hat is in good shape, just slightly dusty and showing it’s age in the silk liner. There are no holes that I see. You may notice two holes in the liner, but these correspond to the little eyelets on the outside of the cap, which hooks fit into to hold up the ‘brim’ part. This is a great hat! Very hard to find, and in good condition for display. I’ve kind of always had a price in mind for it, but it’s been 10+ years and I don’t know the exact value.
